IT’S MY BIKE and Bafang reach agreement on cooperation

IT’S MY BIKE, an IoT Venture GmbH brand, is now working together with Bafang, one of the world’s leading manufacturers for mobility components and e-drive systems. Based in the Chinese city of Suzhou, the company offers solutions for e-bikes, e-scooters and public bike-sharing schemes.

“We’re committed to the partnership for the long term,” states Jürgen Veith, Chief Executive Officer at IoT Venture GmbH. “The aim is to jointly offer OEM customers products that they can use to differentiate themselves from the competition. The IT’S MY BIKE technology provides a whole range innovative services, such as digital anti-theft protection with a movement alarm, assistance with stolen bike recovery and an emergency assistant (e-Call). Products by the two companies can be combined quickly and easily before leaving the factory in the future thanks to elements such as existing slots and cables.”

“Our goal is to become an integral part of the booming European e-bike industry. Our new partnership with IT’S MY BIKE is designed to help achieve this end. We wish to offer OEM customers maximum flexibility and the latest digital advancements with our solutions,” says Chris Qian, Sales Manager Germany for Bafang. “As a result, IT’S MY BIKE technology can be combined with our M200 e-bike drive system in models from 2022. Expansion stages are planned, meaning it will be possible to seamlessly add new services such as information on inspection intervals via app updates in the future.”

A special feature of Bafang e-bike systems is the modular design which allows different components to be connected, including third-party ones. Bafang and IT’S MY BIKE are already developing joint offers for customers such as the Paderborn-based mobility provider SMAF O and Urban Drivestyle, the Berlin-based e-bike manufacture for utility bikes.
