In the early hours of 30 April, Yvonne K.* reports the theft of her e-bike in east Berlin. But the thief didn\u2019t know that he made a bad choice. <\/span><\/div>\n

It\u2019s about 2 a.m. on 30 April. While Yvonne K.* is probably still sleeping, a bicycle thief makes off with her bike that was at her home, near Friedrichshain Hospital. The thief saws through the bike stand in the cellar and flees with the bike.<\/p>\n

First he moves slowly for some time, probably on foot, in the same district east of the borough of Berlin. Three hours later, shortly before Yvonne K.* even becomes aware of the theft, he continues his flight. It seems he has now cracked the lock, because he\u2019s moving at a speed of up to 17 km\/h eastwards along the Karl-Marx-Allee onto the Frankfurter-Allee in the direction of Lichtenberg. There, he stops again near Monimbo Platz.<\/p>\n

Yvonne K.* immediately reports the theft early in the morning at around 5:30 a.m. via the IT\u2019S MY BIKE app. The Bike Hunters from IT\u2019S MY BIKE get on the trail straight away \u2013 thanks to the built-in GPS tracker, they can track the most recent geolocation data points. The e-bike is now at its final stop, in Berlin-Lichtenberg. The Bike Hunters inform the police straight away. Officers then drive to the location and can now successfully recover the e-bike, which is parked outside with a new lock.<\/p>\n
