An e-bike disappears in Darmstadt despite double security measures. Ironically, the victim herself works for the tracking provider IT’S MY BIKE and had naturally taken additional security measures to protect her bike. Thanks to a quick response and close cooperation with the police, the bike was found undamaged a short time later.<\/p>\n

Anna H.’s e-bike was stolen in the early hours of 22 July from a residential area west of Darmstadt railway station. The bike was secured with a frame lock and an additional lock. The thieves broke the chain lock but failed to break the frame lock, meaning they had to carry the bike, so they didn’t get very far. The police later suspect that the thieves initially wanted to store the bike temporarily in order to prepare it for transporting it by car later on.<\/p>\n

At around noon the next day, Anna notices the theft and reports it directly to the Bike Hunters at IT’S MY BIKE. A Bike Hunter immediately contacts the Darmstadt police. A few minutes later, the officers are standing with the victim at the new location of the e-bike.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Sure enough, less than ten minutes after arriving, they found the bike just a few buildings south of where it had been stolen. Everyone was extremely relieved. Anna H.* got her bike back safe and sound in no time.<\/p>\n
