A GPS signal is enough for the return of a stolen bike.

At the beginning of June, Nika B.’s bike was stolen from her locked yard in Berlin at night. Thanks to a quick response and the built-in GPS tracker from IT’S MY BIKE, the police managed to recover the bike on the same day. But that’s not all…

On the morning of 6 June, Nika B. reported the theft of her bicycle at 06:59. It was stolen at around midnight from a locked courtyard in Berlin, where it had been covered with a tarpaulin and secured to a banister. However, the theft was not left undetected for long; the bike was still in motion when the report was received by IT’S MY BIKE’s bike hunters. Everything suggests that it is being transported by vehicle, as the speed is too high to travel on two wheels.

The police were informed immediately and responded promptly. At around 18:36, the officers arrived at the reported location in Fröbelstraße in Berlin-Pankow, right next to a park. At first, no suspicious vehicles are visible. However, after a few minutes, they spot a car with a bicycle tyre visible inside. The vehicle’s subsequent slight wobble and the resulting motion alarm confirm their suspicions: this is where the stolen bicycle is located.

The police decide to keep the vehicle under surveillance in the hope that the perpetrator will return. However, the car remained motionless until midnight. At 00:59, the vehicle is finally taken to the police station. The officers are surprised to find not only Nika B.’s bike, but also two more stolen bikes in the car.

Just 18 hours after the theft was reported, Nika B.’s bike is returned — a complete success.
