Frankfurt: GPS tracker leads thief into trap
On 18 November at 01:02 a.m., a thief strikes: Linus W.*’s e-bike is stolen from a bicycle cellar in an underground car park near the main cemetery in Frankfurt am Main. But the bike is equipped with an IT’S MY BIKE GPS tracker, which quickly proves to be a decisive advantage.
The theft report reaches the IT’S MY BIKE bike hunters at 06:22 o’clock. They reacted immediately and took up the chase. At 11:35 a special unit of the Frankfurt police intervened: The bike was on the move and heading south, near Bockenheim.
But then something unexpected happened: at 11.45 a.m., the signal suddenly changed and led the investigators to the Mertonstrasse underground station. The suspected thief is caught in the station. Linus W.* is informed immediately and is overjoyed.
