GPS tracker helps to return stolen e-bike to Paris
At around half past five on 23 June, an e-bike was stolen in the north of the city centre, near Square Léon. The owner had only stepped away for a moment when she returned, her bike had vanished without a trace. A few minutes later, the theft was reported via the IT’S MY BIKE app because, luckily for her, the bike was equipped with a GPS tracker. The Bike Hunters immediately begin searching for clues.
Initially, the GPS data reveals the bike’s last known location. It continues to move south towards the city centre. The Bike Hunters intervene immediately: they check the current coordinates, call the owner and inform the police simultaneously. Every minute counts.
Just over an hour later, the GPS provides the decisive clue, prompting the officers and the owner to set off immediately. The bike is found south of the city centre, near a department store, secured with a new lock. All the police now have to do is open the lock.
