IT'S MY BIKE employee robbed: GPS tracker ensures quick recovery

Thanks to GPS tracking from IT’S MY BIKE, the e-bike is recovered in less than 90 minutes. At the beginning of March, Fabian’s e-bike was stolen from Cologne Central Station while he was sitting in a meeting in Darmstadt. However, the IT’S MY BIKE app immediately sounded the alarm.

Practical testing of IT’S MY BIKE’s own innovation demonstrates the effectiveness of GPS tracking in an emergency. This time, the theft occurs in special circumstances: Fabian, an IT’S MY BIKE employee, is in a meeting in Darmstadt. At 10:31 a.m., he suddenly receives a push notification from the IT’S MY BIKE app.

Even though it is securely locked at Cologne Central Station, his e-bike is being moved. A quick look at the app confirms his suspicions — the bike is being stolen!

Fabian immediately contacts his Bike Hunter colleagues.

The pursuit begins at 11:35 a.m. While the meeting is still in progress, Fabian and his team monitor the e-bike’s position in real time. The GPS tracker continuously sends new location data and records the bike’s route.

The signal shows that the thief is heading south through the centre of Cologne, passing the Deutz Bridge and the districts of Apostelviertel and Cäcilienviertel, and continuing down to the Rhine. The police have already been informed.

The last location is at Rheinauhafen, to the south of the main railway station and near Trude-Herr-Park. Thanks to the Bike Hunters, the officers are able to secure the e-bike in less than 90 minutes at around 12 noon.
