Night-time theft on Lake Constance: bike hunters track down e-bikes.

At the end of May, Mia M.’s e-bike was stolen from outside a restaurant in Bregenz and seemingly disappeared without a trace. However, thanks to a built-in GPS tracker and the swift action of the Bike Hunter and the police, the bike is found just a few days later in Langenargen on Lake Constance.

On the evening of 27 May 2025, Mia M.’s bike disappeared without a trace outside a restaurant in Bregenz, on the shores of Lake Constance in Austria. A later analysis by IT’S MY BIKE’s bike hunters showed that the perpetrator began tampering with the bike at 22:26. Approximately 20 minutes later, Mia M. noticed the theft and reported it immediately via the IT’S MY BIKE app. This is because her e-bike is equipped with an IT’S MY BIKE GPS tracker.

The next day, the bike hunters receive the first new signal from Langenargen, around 30 kilometres north of Bregenz on the German side of Lake Constance. The tracker initially locates the bike inside a building, and then documents its subsequent movements.

Finally, at 13:33 on 30 May, a signal was received from the beach in Langenargen. The bike hunters immediately informed the police. Just two hours later, at 15:23, the officers recovered the stolen e-bike, which was undamaged.
