Stolen e-bike found in Hamburg: 'Without a tracker, my bike would have disappeared'.
It is Thursday 29 August. Late in the morning, at 11:38 am Natascha N. receives a motion alert via the IT’S MY BIKE app on her mobile phone: her bike is being moved! She immediately rushes to the stairwell at her workplace in Hamburg to see what has happened. But all she finds is the lock that had previously secured her bike. What am I going to do now, what am I going to do now – and then there was someone there to help me, that was really great,’ she recalls later. The bike hunters from IT’S MY BIKE were immediately on the phone to help her.
Just before noon, Natascha N. reported the theft, and less than ten minutes later, the Bike Hunter team contacts her. As the bike can be tracked using the integrated GPS tracker from IT’S MY BIKE, the Bike Hunters were able to locate the bike quickly. The last known location: Hamburg North, near the airport.
Natascha N. reports the incident, and the Bike Hunters immediately inform the police around 12.30 pm. A patrol car sets off and the Bike Hunters follow the GPS signal together with the officers on the phone.
At 13:11 pm, the bike is safe again – locked, but without the perpetrators. The police remove the lock and take the e-bike to the police station for the time being. It all went so well, it couldn’t have gone any better,’ says Natascha N. with relief. Without the tracker, my bike would have disappeared,’ she adds. The day ends on a happy note for Natascha N.: her bike is recovered in less than two hours and she will be able to take it home soon.
